The screening is scheduled for Tuesday, September 13, at the West Kentucky University campus. The Turning Point WKU Twitter page <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wku_tpusa\/status\/1567567780207120385\">confirms<\/a> the screening will still happen despite Eventbrite not allowing them to promote it on their platform.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Eventbrite removed our event to watch <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MattWalshBlog?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@MattWalshBlog<\/a> \u201cWhat is a Woman\u201d. The event will still be happening. Show up and let\u2019s show Eventbrite that their censorship will not stop us. It\u2019s next Tuesday, September 13, 6pm in DSU 2123. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/h9sDcNv0Za\">https:\/\/t.co\/h9sDcNv0Za<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Turning Point USA WKU (@wku_tpusa) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wku_tpusa\/status\/1567567780207120385?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 7, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>An email from the company said, \u201cWe encourage our organizers to express their views and gather for a chosen purpose as long as it\u2019s done in a way that doesn\u2019t violate our Legal Terms. We do not permit events, content, or creators that promote or encourage hate, violence, or harassment towards others and\/or oneself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The notice of removal went on to say that the event \u201cexpresses views that are in violation\u201d of the company\u2019s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Next, the platform Trust and Safety Team advised that the event would be removed.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/l\/community-guidelines\/\">Community Guidelines<\/a> for Eventbrite further promise that they are \u201ccommitted to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful platform for the organization and discovery of live events.\u201d Specifically prohibited content includes \u201cHateful or Dangerous Content or Events That Discriminate Against or Threaten Any Societal Group, or Encourages Violence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This section specifies content cannot be, \u201cHate speech, hateful ideologies, and hateful activities that incite, encourage or engage in violence, intimidation, disparagement, harassment, or threats targeting an individual or group based on their actual or perceived race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, immigration status, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or veteran status.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Eventbrite did not immediately return The Daily Wire\u2019s request for comment about the specific reason why the event was removed.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cWhat Is a Woman?\u201d screening is not the first event to get removed from Eventbrite for violating their community guidelines. In July, Eventbrite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ticketnews.com\/2022\/07\/eventbrite-face-gop-ire-over-deplatforming-dsouza-event\/\">canceled payments<\/a> for an event featuring \u201c2,000 Mules\u201d creator Dinesh D\u2019Souza, including a film screening, because it was promoting \u201cpotentially harmful misinformation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The movie seeks to prove fraud in the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>Louisiana GOP Chairman Louis Gurvich said he believed Eventbrite\u2019s actions were politically motivated, and that they canceled the event at the last minute as a form of sabotage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have to feel like there\u2019s a malicious intent here,\u201d Gurvich said at the time. \u201cWe\u2019re not going to recover all the fees.
