We\u2019re going to focus on the here and now. We\u2019re going to focus on what\u2019s happening today,\u201d Jean-Pierre said.<\/p>\n<p>Doocy then referenced Jean-Pierre\u2019s Twitter posts\u2014the first time Jean-Pierre has been confronted with them since she became press secretary on May 13.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf denying election results is extreme now, why wasn\u2019t it then?\u201d Doocy wondered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh, I knew this was coming,\u201d\u00a0 Jean-Pierre said. \u201cI was waiting, Peter, when you were going to ask me that question,\u201d she said, laughing.<\/p>\n<p>Jean-Pierre, a former CNN commentator, then defended her posts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s be really clear that that comparison that you made is just ridiculous,\u201d she said. \u201cI was talking specifically at that time of what was happening with voting rights and what was danger of voting rights. That\u2019s what I was speaking to at the time. I have said Gov. Kemp won the election in Georgia. I have been clear on that. I have said that President Trump won the election in 2016.
