Dori Koren in a statement. \u201cNow we are asking for the public\u2019s help. According to police, the suspect <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/09\/05\/las-vegas-police-release-pics-of-suspect-in-fatal-stabbing-of-jeff-german\/\">may<\/a> have been in the neighborhood to plan potential crimes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Throughout his 40-year-journalism career, German <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewjournal.com\/crime\/homicides\/review-journal-investigative-reporter-jeff-german-killed-outside-home-2634323\/\">broke<\/a> major stories about the mafia, political corruption, and city politics while reporting for multiple Las Vegas outlets.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During his time with the Las Vegas Sun, German wrote a book about the 1998 murder of casino boss Ted Binion entitled \u201cMurder In Sin City: The Death of a Las Vegas Casino Boss.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Early in his career, German was instrumental in covering the ties between the Aladdin Hotel and the Detroit mob. He also broke exclusives about the October 2017 country music festival shooting that left 60 people dead and more than 400 injured, including reports about the failure of officials to maintain safety protocols for casinos and details about the gunman shooting at two jet fuel tanks in the festival area.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>German\u2019s co-workers at the Las Vegas Review-Journal were stunned by the news of his death.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Review-Journal family is devastated to lose Jeff,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewjournal.com\/crime\/homicides\/review-journal-investigative-reporter-jeff-german-killed-outside-home-2634323\/\">said<\/a> Executive Editor Glenn Cook. \u201cHe was the gold standard of the news business.
