James Comer (R-Ky.), top ranking member of the House Oversight Committee and one of the bill\u2019s authors,\u00a0said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/republicans-energycommerce.house.gov\/news\/press-release\/mcmorris-rodgers-comer-jordan-introduce-bill-to-stop-biden-administration-from-pressuring-social-media-companies-to-censor-americans\/\">statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Rep.-James-Comer-e1657344633133-1200x749-1.jpg\"><\/a> Ranking member Rep. (Anna Moneymaker\/Getty Images) <\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom COVID-19 to Hunter Biden, Biden Administration officials are quick to label facts that don\u2019t fit their narrative as disinformation and then pressure social media companies to suppress content on their platforms,\u201d he continued. \u201cThis threatens Americans\u2019 First Amendment rights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other authors of the bill are House Judiciary Committee ranking member Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and House Committee on Energy and Commerce ranking member Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.).
