In an interview for EpochTV\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/james-sherk-how-unelected-bureaucrats-sabotaged-trumps-policies-and-what-to-do-about-it_4681733.html\">American Thought Leaders<\/a>\u201d program, he said he helped craft the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-schedule-f\">Schedule F<\/a> executive order after witnessing career bureaucrats blocking President Donald Trump\u2019s agenda.<\/p>\n<p>Schedule F would\u00a0enable a president to fire powerful bureaucrats who engage in insubordination or intransigence. As it stands now, civil service protections make it nearly impossible to successfully fire a federal employee, Sherk said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo one\u00a0votes\u00a0for these\u00a0career\u00a0bureaucrats,\u201d he said. \u201cThey have no accountability to\u00a0the\u00a0American people, and if the government is wielding its vast power\u00a0in a manner divorced from what the elected representatives in Congress and the president in the White House is saying, then you have an unaccountable government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In August, after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2022\/08\/02\/democrats-legislation-trump-schedule-f\">Axios ran a story<\/a> about Trump\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov\/presidential-actions\/executive-order-creating-schedule-f-excepted-service\/\">Schedule F<\/a>\u00a0executive order, Democratic lawmakers introduced a bill to prevent that executive order from ever being implemented again by another president. But Sherk said the fact that the Washington establishment is up in arms about proposal means it\u2019s a spot-on policy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOfficial Washington lit their hair on fire, which I think was a pretty good sign we\u2019re right over the target,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p> No Accountability <\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Constitution stipulates that the federal bureaucracy be answerable to the president and the American people. But right now, federal employees have extensive removal protections.
