The Epoch Times\u00a0obtained a copy of the letter.<\/p>\n<p>But the pair said that the late 2020 briefing was actually\u00a0\u201cunnecessary and was only done because of pressure from our Democratic colleagues, including Democratic leadership, to falsely attack our Biden investigation as advancing Russian disinformation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FBI succumbed to the Democratic pressure and provided the infamous August 6, 2020, briefing,\u201d they wrote.\u00a0\u201cWe made clear to you at the briefing that it was not relevant to the substance of our work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn response, you stated that the FBI is not attempting to \u2018quash, curtail, or interfere\u2019 in the investigation in any way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At the time, Grassley and Johnson were investigating the younger Biden\u2019s role while on the board of Ukrainian gas company Burisma Holdings\u2014which was the subject of a Ukrainian government investigation for years\u2014as well as his financial transactions.
