But he added the White House is \u201cnot involved\u201d in the assessment and said it is within the \u201cpurview\u201d of the\u00a0Office of the Director of National Intelligence (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-odni\">ODNI<\/a>), which leads 17 separate U.S. intelligence agencies.<\/p>\n<p>Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines last week told\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/mkt_app\/intelligence-officials-to-assess-potential-risk-to-national-security-from-trump-held-documents_4693343.html\">The Epoch Times<\/a> that the Justice Department and\u00a0ODNI are \u201cworking together to facilitate a classification review of relevant materials,\u201d including those that were taken by FBI agents at Mar-a-Lago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cODNI will also lead an Intelligence Community (IC) assessment of the potential risk to national security that would result from the disclosure of the relevant documents,\u201d the spokesperson added.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier on Monday, the Justice Department filed a motion in response to Trump\u2019s legal complaint that seeks a special master to review the seized documents. The agency\u2019s filter team already reviewed the documents that were taken from Mar-a-Lago, it wrote.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/trumps-mar-a-lago-documents-already-examined-by-justice-department-prosecutors_4695991.html\">In that response<\/a>, prosecutors said that possible attorney-client materials were taken by agents on Aug. 8, while it confirmed the ODNI is carrying out a classification review of the materials.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the Director of National Intelligence advised Congress, ODNI is also leading an intelligence community assessment of the potential risk to national security that would result from the disclosure of these materials,\u201d the filing said.<\/p>\n<p> Declassification <\/p>\n<p>The 45th president and some of his former White House aides have said that he had a standing order that declassified documents that left the Oval Office and were taken to Mar-a-Lago.
