You could forgive all medical debt, which, unlike student debt, is not freely entered into.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Biden announced that individual\u00a0borrowers who make less than $125,000 annually and married couples or heads of households who make less than\u00a0$250,000 per year will have up to $10,000 of their loan debt forgiven if they didn\u2019t get a Pell grant. Up to $20,000 will be given to individuals who make less than\u00a0$125,000 annually and married couples or heads of households who make less than\u00a0$250,000 per year if they did receive a Pell grant.<\/p>\n<p>Biden also extended a pause on student loan payments to the end of December 2022, <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/administration\/3611977-biden-cancels-some-student-loan-debt-extends-pandemic-payment-pause\/\">according<\/a> to the White House.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo what is my party doing with this? They\u2019re disadvantaging\u2014I think they\u2019re not helping the people that we\u2019re here to help, which is [sic] poor people and underprivileged communities,\u201d Begala said, noting that some Democrats running for office in the midterms are distancing themselves from Biden\u2019s announcement. \u201cAnd they\u2019re not helping their politicians who are running.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Republicans said that the plan is unfair to taxpayers and will likely exacerbate soaring inflation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt should impact the way people live their lives.
