Vance in the Ohio Senate race in November, told CNN on Aug. 28 that Biden\u2019s decision sent \u201cthe wrong message.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople are getting crushed with inflation, crushed with gas prices, food prices, and all the rest. And I think a targeted approach right now really does send the wrong message,\u201d Ryan said.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan added, \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of people out there making 30, 40 grand a year that didn\u2019t go to college, and they need help as well, which is why I have been proposing a tax cut for working people that will affect everybody.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Ohio lawmaker offered the alternative option of allowing student loan borrowers to negotiate lower interest rates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou could very easily allow them to negotiate\u2014renegotiate down the interest rates,\u201d Ryan continued. \u201cGiving them an opportunity to renegotiate those down will put significant money in their pocket and I think relieve some of that burden.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2019\/04\/04\/Ryan-584269878-1200x800.jpg\"><\/a> Rep. (Alex Wong\/Getty Images) <\/p>\n<p>Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/biden-admin-to-cancel-10000-of-student-loan-debt-for-millions-despite-inflation-concerns_4685966.html\">announced<\/a> the student loan debt relief on Aug. 24, saying that his administration would spend hundreds of billions of dollars to absorb up to $10,000 in outstanding student debt, for individuals earning less than $250,000 a year or $250,000 as a family. For Pell Grant recipients, the amount will be doubled to $20,000.<\/p>\n<p>Other Democrats that have not fully endorsed Biden\u2019s plan have included Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), <a href=\"https:\/\/elkodaily.com\/news\/state-and-regional\/govt-and-politics\/cortez-masto-pushes-back-against-biden-student-loan-forgiveness-as-other-dems-cheer\/article_13ce7cc0-2414-11ed-89c7-df8fcf8fb106.html\">Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MeetThePress\/status\/1563274003175047169\">Rep. Sharice Davids (R-Kan.)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/more-democrats-piling-onto-biden-300-billion-student-loan-handouts\">Rep. Kim Schrier (D-Wash.)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JamesPindell\/status\/1562483633012613122\">Rep. Chris Pappas (D-N.H.)<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepSlotkin\/status\/1562878187830272001\">Rep.
