She is a distinguished law enforcement professional with exceptional leadership skills, and was easily the best choice to lead the agency at a critical moment for the Secret Service. She has my complete trust, and I look forward to working with her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The position doesn\u2019t require a Senate confirmation.<\/p>\n<p>Cheatle currently oversees facilities,\u00a0personnel, and business continuity as a senior director at PepsiCo North America. Before that, she\u00a0served as assistant director in the Office of Protective Operations within the U.S. Secret Service.<\/p>\n<p>The White House said that Cheatle held a number of leadership roles during her time with the U.S. Secret Service. She will be the second woman in the role.<\/p>\n<p> Mayorkas Welcomes Appointment <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-homeland-security\">Homeland Security<\/a> Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas welcomed the appointment, calling Cheatle an \u201cexperienced leader\u201d who will bring a \u201cfresh perspective\u201d to the role.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI commend President Biden on the selection of Kimberly Cheatle to serve as the next Director of the U.S. Secret Service,\u201d\u00a0Mayorkas said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dhs.gov\/news\/2022\/08\/24\/statement-secretary-alejandro-n-mayorkas-appointment-kimberly-cheatle-director-us\">statement<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2022\/08\/25\/GettyImages-1242252851.jpg\"><\/a> Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas speaks during an event on funding climate resilience<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Joe Biden on Wednesday announced that he will appoint Kim Cheatle as the next director of the U.S. Secret Service.
