Ron DeSantis of Florida on Aug. 22 released a new campaign advertisement taking aim at \u201ccorporate media.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis, who didn\u2019t have a Republican challenger in Tuesday\u2019s primary, has only released a handful of campaign ads during the past two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The latest one-minute commercial video, mirroring the blockbuster movie \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-top-gun-maverick\">Top Gun: Maverick<\/a>,\u201d was posted by wife Casey DeSantis on Twitter late Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The parody opens with a hangar with captions \u201cFreedom Headquarters (Florida)\u201d before the \u201cTop Gov\u201d label appears. The Florida governor then arrives in a black leather jacket and sunglasses, which is similar to the outfit of Tom Cruise in his 1986 movie.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood morning ladies and gentlemen, this is your Governor speaking,\u201d DeSantis says in the video. \u201cToday\u2019s training evolution: dogfighting. Taking on the corporate media.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe rules of engagement are as follows: Number one, don\u2019t fire unless fired upon, but when they fire, you fire back with overwhelming force,\u201d DeSantis is heard as saying.<\/p>\n<p>The footage then intercuts with press conferences or other previous scenes when he blasted reporters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDoes it say that in the bill?\u201d DeSantis said to one reporter. \u201cI\u2019m asking you to tell me what\u2019s in the bill.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWrong. It\u2019s a fake narrative,\u201d DeSantis blasted another reporter. \u201cI just disabused you of the narrative and you don\u2019t care about the facts.
