Tragically, Kobe and their daughter Gigi died in a tragic helicopter accident in January of 2020.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4294\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4294\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4294 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/2022.08.24-05.30-themixnet-6306602539a24.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"2202\" height=\"1306\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4294\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: Vanessa Bryant Instagram<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>While the last two years have been extremely difficult for Bryant\u2019s surviving family, some form of closure may be coming soon in the form of victory regarding their current civil lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>Vanessa and co-plaintiff Chris Chester, who\u2019s wife and daughter also perished in the same helicopter crash, have been in a legal battle with the Calabasas Country sheriff\u2019s and fire department after it was revealed that employees of both departments who arrived at the scene of the crash used personal cell phones to take photos of the deceased at the scene of the crash.<\/p>\n<p>Bryant and Chester\u2019s attorney has asked the jury to award the plaintiffs $75 million, as well as $2.5 million additionally to each of them for emotional damages caused by the defendants plus $1 million annually to Vanessa Bryant for forty years and Chester for thirty years.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4306\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4306\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4306 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/2022.08.24-05.30-themixnet-630660299748e.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1650\" height=\"870\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4306\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Kobe Bryant via Valuetainment YouTube<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The defendants in the trial claim that the photos were never posted online and were also deleted shortly after they had been discovered.
