Anthony Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser slammed Yelp\u2019s move in a statement, saying the \u201cdiscriminatory labels\u201d are meant to \u201cscare women away\u201d from getting the resources they need.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShame on Big Tech companies like Yelp for colluding with the abortion lobby in their war on compassionate pregnancy help,\u201d Dannenfelser said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe abortion lobby meanwhile fights tooth and nail against women\u2019s right to informed consent, including hearing their baby\u2019s heartbeat or seeing an ultrasound,\u201d she continued.\u00a0\u201cIf Big Tech\u2019s labels were truthful, they\u2019d highlight all the real services pregnancy centers provide that Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry don\u2019t, such as diapers, formula, clothing, strollers, parenting and childbirth classes, education and career help, and much more \u2013 typically free of charge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Passions have been high around abortion access since the weeks leading up to June 24, when the Supreme Court overturned <em>Roe vs. Wade<\/em>, the 1973 landmark decision that legalized abortion nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>Less than a week after <em>Roe<\/em> was overturned, Google\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wcti12.com\/news\/nation-world\/new-york-ag-demands-google-remove-crisis-pregnancy-centers-from-search-results-cpc-letita-james-abortion-clinic-pregnancy-healthcare-health-care\">came<\/a> under pressure from New York Attorney General Letitia James, who sent a <a href=\"https:\/\/ag.ny.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/2022.06.28_letter_to_google_re_cpcs.pdf\">letter<\/a>\u00a0urging the tech behemoth to make sure Google Maps searches for \u201cabortion\u201d do not bring up local crisis pregnancy centers.<\/p>\n<p>About 64% of Americans, including 70% of Democrats, support publicly funding pregnancy centers, according to\u00a0an 85 Fund poll conducted by CRC Research. When poll participants were shown what services pregnancy centers offer, 74% said they supported funding them.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, 80% of those polled said protesters who committed violence against pregnancy centers should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, according to the poll.<\/p>\n<p>Both leading up to the <em>Roe<\/em> decision and following it, crisis pregnancy centers have been targeted with violence.<\/p>\n<p>Days before the <em>Roe<\/em> decision, pro-abortion activists <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/oregon-pregnancy-center-firebombed-activists\/\">firebombed<\/a> a crisis pregnancy center in Oregon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf abortions aren\u2019t safe then you aren\u2019t either,\u201d read a message scrawled on the side of the\u00a0offices of a pro-life organization in Wisconsin, which were firebombed on Mother\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n<p>A similar message was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2022\/08\/18\/pro-abortion-vandals-strike-pregnancy-center-in-massachusetts\/\">spray-painted<\/a> on the sidewalk outside a Massachusetts crisis pregnancy center.<\/p>\n<p>Perpetrators have also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/first-image.org\/2022\/05\/05\/vandalism-at-our-southeast-center\/\">smashed<\/a> windows and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2022\/08\/18\/pro-abortion-vandals-strike-pregnancy-center-in-massachusetts\/\">vandalized<\/a>\u00a0centers with red paint.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, pregnancy centers and community-based health clinics\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/realchoices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/realchoices\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1661350248607000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2Ye8X6URstd7kRz_3eNDIc\">outnumber<\/a>\u00a0Planned Parenthood clinics by 14 to 1 across the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yelp will start flagging listings for crisis pregnancy centers in order to distinguish them from abortion clinics.
