A spokesperson for Oz confirmed the image is edited.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Trump plans to hold a rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania Sept. 3 to bolster Oz\u2019s campaign against Democratic Lt. Gov. John Fetterman for the state\u2019s open U.S. Senate seat, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/trump-hold-pennsylvania-maga-rally-oz-mastriano-struggle-polls-1735369\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Newsweek<\/a>. Oz has trailed behind Fetterman in recent polling, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>The Facebook post allegedly shows an image of Oz kissing Trump\u2019s Hollywood star. \u201cMehmet Oz only cares about one thing \u2014 and it isn\u2019t Pennsylvania,\u201d the caption reads. The same image was posted to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mmpadellan\/status\/1561215852229414914\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter<\/a> where it garnered over 23,000 likes and 4,500 retweets.<\/p>\n<p><span>The photo is digitally fabricated. The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/entertainment-mehmet-oz-oprah-winfrey-congress-celebrity-3031911c3f7f115607b3817048e01050\"><span>original image<\/span><\/a><span> was shared by The Associated Press in February and shows Oz kissing a star with his own name on it. <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/06\/13\/fact-check-oz-vote-pennsylvania\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>(<\/strong><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/06\/13\/fact-check-oz-vote-pennsylvania\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>RELATED: Is Dr. Oz Not Registered To Vote In Pennsylvania?)<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cMehmet Oz, the former host of \u2018The Dr. Oz Show,\u2019 kisses his new star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame during a ceremony on Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, in Los Angeles,\u201d the photo\u2019s caption reads.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThe photo being circulated online has been manipulated,\u201d a spokesperson for the Oz campaign told Check Your Fact in an email.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time misinformation about a senate candidate has circled online this election cycle.
