Greene, who responded in a heated Twitter thread.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) said during an Aug. 21 television appearance that Republican criticisms of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-fbi\">FBI<\/a> following its unprecedented raid of President Donald Trump\u2019s home are \u201ccrazy,\u201d and opined that most Republican voters don\u2019t share this attitude.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI\u2019s Aug. 8 raid on Trump\u2019s Florida Mar-a-Lago home set off warning bells among many Republican lawmakers, who have characterized the raid as politically motivated and lawless.<\/p>\n<p>House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), who has in the past had a sometimes adversarial attitude toward the former president, was emphatic in his denunciation of the raid.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve seen enough,\u201d McCarthy wrote in a tweet the night of the raid. \u201cThe Department of Justice has reached\u00a0an intolerable state of weaponized\u00a0politicization.\u00a0When Republicans take back the House,\u00a0we will conduct immediate oversight of\u00a0this department, follow the facts, and\u00a0leave no stone unturned.\u00a0Attorney General Garland, preserve your\u00a0documents and clear your calendar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other Republicans, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), took it a step further.<\/p>\n<p>Just days after the raid, Greene filed articles of impeachment against Attorney General Merrick Garland and has called for the FBI to be defunded.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans across the ideological spectrum have demanded that the FBI and DOJ answer for the raid, but as of yet answers about the reasons for the search have been scant.<\/p>\n<p>During an Aug. 22 appearance on CNN\u2019s \u201cState of the Union,\u201d Crenshaw lashed out against denunciations of the FBI, which he called \u201ccrazy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh yes, it\u2019s crazy,\u201d Crenshaw said specifically when asked about the rhetoric on the FBI from within his party.<\/p>\n<p>Some Republicans, including Crenshaw, have condemned Greene\u2019s calls to defund the FBI as being equivalent to Democrats\u2019 calls following the 2020 death of George Floyd to defund the police, a cry that has been kept alive among<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rep.
