A video shared on Facebook claims the Russians recently lost 13 ships in one \u201cbrutal attack.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBRUTAL ATTACK (Aug 12) Ukraine Navy artillery destroys 13 Russian warships,\u201d the video\u2019s caption reads. The video itself shows a compilation of combat footage from the war in Ukraine. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/08\/11\/fact-check-israel-russian-submarine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did The Israelis Destroy A Russian Submarine?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is no evidence to suggest that the Russians suffered that many naval losses in a single attack. If the Ukrainians had destroyed 13 Russian warships in one strike, credible media outlets would have covered it, yet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=russians+lose+13+warships&amp;source=lnms&amp;tbm=nws&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=2ahUKEwjujYyL5ND5AhUpK0QIHapVCkkQ_AUoAXoECAEQAw&amp;biw=1440&amp;bih=821&amp;dpr=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">none have<\/a>. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has not published any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mil.gov.ua\/en\/news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">press releases<\/a> detailing the destruction of 13 Russian warships in a single action.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.oryxspioenkop.com\/2022\/02\/attack-on-europe-documenting-equipment.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Oryx<\/a>, an open-source analysis website that tracks military losses in various conflicts, has visually confirmed that 11 Russian naval vessels in total have been destroyed or damaged since the Russian invasion started in February. The Ukrainian military claims to have destroyed 15 Russian vessels as of publishing time, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KyivIndependent\/status\/1560159135659921409\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kyiv Independent<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">These are the indicative estimates of Russia\u2019s combat losses as of Aug. 18, according to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/i7b3pup73j\">pic.twitter.com\/i7b3pup73j<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Kyiv Independent (@KyivIndependent) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KyivIndependent\/status\/1560159135659921409?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 18, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Furthermore, the video\u2019s narrator reads from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukrinform.net\/rubric-ato\/3545294-four-russian-ships-with-24-kalibr-missiles-on-alert-in-black-sea.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ukrinform article<\/a> about Russian naval movements. The article mentions 13 Russian vessels on the move but does not indicate that they were destroyed or damaged.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time Check Your Fact has addressed claims about Russian naval losses.
