Lindsey Graham must testify in the investigation of former President Donald Trump and associates\u2019 alleged efforts to overturn Georgia\u2019s 2020 presidential election results.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Investigating Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis had said in July that\u00a0<span class=\"gmail-il\">Graham<\/span>\u00a0called Georgia Secretary Brad Raffensperger and members of his staff at least twice in the weeks after the 2020 presidential election to question them about examining particular Georgia absentee ballots \u201cto explore the possibility of a more favorable outcome\u201d for Trump,\u201d according to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/2022-midterm-elections-donald-trump-georgia-atlanta-crime-5560602d043602172db2e2313064c979\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Associated Press<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Graham had previously been ordered to testify in the case by a district judge, but the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals <a href=\"https:\/\/s3.documentcloud.org\/documents\/22156179\/grahamca11ord082122.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">blocked<\/a> the order Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>US District Judge Leigh Martin May declared Aug. 15 that Graham must obey the Fulton County grand jury\u2019s subpoena demanding he testify, despite his defense arguing the U.S. Constitution\u2019s \u201cSpeech or Debate\u201d clause protected him from being forced to do so. (Photo by Joe Raedle\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/22156179-grahamca11ord082122\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ordered<\/a>\u00a0May Sunday to review if the \u201cSpeech and Debate Clause\u201d required the subpoena\u2019s revision or eliminating part of it.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/08\/21\/democrat-appointed-judge-males-womens-prisons-jails\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Dem-Appointed Judge Opens The Door To More Men Being Housed In Women\u2019s Prisons)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Graham\u2019s office did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will take this as far as we need to take it.
