These new regulations would potentially force farmers to cut their livestock production radically, with 11,200 farms in danger of closing as a result, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-europe-62335287\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BBC News<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>The Twitter video<strong>,<\/strong> viewed over 120,000 times, apparently shows protesters in the Netherlands using tractors to spray straw debris on officers as they attempt to hold a line to contain the demonstrations. Protesters can also be seen lighting hay bales on fire.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow to deal with Fascism,\u201d reads the tweet. \u201cThank you Dutch farmers.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/08\/04\/fact-check-italian-farmers-protesting-legislation\/\">(Related: Does This Video Show Italian Farmers Protesting \u2018Enforced Farming Legislation\u2019?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The video does not show a recent demonstration in the Netherlands. The footage stems from a September 2015 demonstration in Brussels, Belgium. Farmers in the country gathered outside European Union (EU) buildings to demand government support in light of a Russian ban on EU food imports, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-eu-agriculture-protests-idUSKCN0R71EO20150907\">Reuters reported<\/a>. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=0Tprmv71XCQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Associated Press<\/a> shared a video matching the Facebook footage in September 2015 with a description that indicated it took place in Belgium.<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>While the video does not depict Dutch farmers, similar scenes have unfolded in the Netherlands where Dutch farmers are using tractors and dumping manure on highways, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/world\/dutch-farmers-dump-manure-garbage-on-roads-to-protest-planned-emission-reductions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PBS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time falsified images from protests in the Netherlands have circulated on social media.
