Chuck Grassley accused the FBI of a double standard in probes of former President Donald Trump and Hunter Biden, arguing the bureau is politically motivated.<\/p>\n<p>Grassley argued in a Wednesday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grassley.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/grassley_to_fbi_wfo_org_chart_and_interviews.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">letter<\/a> to FBI Director Christopher Wray that the FBI failed to refute his claims that it started an investigation into Trump \u201cbased in substantial part on liberal news articles and information derived from a liberal non-profit,\u201d yet stopped investigative work into Hunter Biden\u2019s business dealings and alleged misconduct despite \u201cverified and verifiable information\u201d supporting them. He claimed \u201cnumerous whistleblowers\u201d had given his office information indicating a \u201cdeeply rooted political infection\u201d affecting investigations into Trump and Hunter Biden. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/08\/15\/strzok-fbi-defended-trump-raid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Disgraced Ex-FBI Agent Peter Strzok Says Americans Should \u2018Absolutely\u2019 Trust FBI After Trump Raid)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow can verified and verifiable information relating to Hunter Biden\u2019s potential criminality be shared with U.S. Attorney Weiss if it is shut down?\u201d Grassley asked on Wednesday. \u201cHow can the Hunter Biden criminal investigation be full and complete if the FBI improperly shut down verified and verifiable information and sourcing relating to potential criminal activity? How can Congress and the American people trust the results?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Grassely referenced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grassley.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/CEG%20to%20DOJ%20FBI%20(WFO).pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">three<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grassley.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/grassley_to_justice_deptfbipoliticalbiasfollowup.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">previous<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grassley.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/grassley_to_justice_dept_fbi_-_political_bias.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">letters<\/a> he had addressed to Wray.<\/p>\n<p>Wray had called accusations that former Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the FBI\u2019s Washington field office Timothy Thibault posted partisan social media content and suppressed information in the probe of Hunter Biden\u2019s business activities \u201cdeeply troubling\u201d on Aug. 4, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/08\/04\/fbi-thibault-cover-up-hunter-biden-information-00049922\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Politico<\/a>.
