The NIAID denied Fauci made the remark.<\/p>\n<div id=\"rev-more-content\">\n<p>Officials from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced in June that Pfizer\u2019s COVID-19 vaccine is safe for use in children under five, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/health\/pfizer-covid-vaccine-appears-safe-for-kids-under-5-fda-review-finds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PBS<\/a>. The vaccine had previously been authorized for children ages five to 11, the FDA <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/news-events\/press-announcements\/fda-authorizes-pfizer-biontech-covid-19-vaccine-emergency-use-children-5-through-11-years-age\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">stated<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>An image shared on Facebook claims Fauci recently referred to children as \u201ctest subjects\u201d while discussing COVID-19 vaccinations for children. The image shows what appears to be a screenshot of a news headline that reads, \u201cFauci Accidentally Refers To American Children As \u2018Test Subjects\u2019 In MSNBC Interview.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI encourage all 5-11 year old test subjects . . . I mean children . . . to get vaccinated as soon as possible,\u201d reads the alleged subhead. \u201cSlip of the tongue? #truth,\u201d reads the post\u2019s caption. <\/span>The same image was also shared on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CharlotteEmmaUK\/status\/1558780556820844546?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1558780556820844546%7Ctwgr%5E7366984cfb2f26e22fd2160c226fad741b6ac00d%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&#038;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.reuters.com%2Farticle%2Ffactcheck-fauci-test-subjects-idUSL1N2ZS0XQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter<\/a> where one iteration garnered over 170 likes.<\/p>\n<p><span>This image is digitally fabricated. There are no <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=fauci+accidentally+refers+to+children+as+test+subjects+in+msnbc+interview&#038;sxsrf=ALiCzsbnSZeqDPqLOzrARt6Ulesrvk3v4w:1660661425690&#038;source=lnms&#038;tbm=nws&#038;sa=X&#038;ved=2ahUKEwin8Pryzcv5AhWdD0QIHSvEAMMQ_AUoAXoECAEQAw&#038;biw=1536&#038;bih=722&#038;dpr=1.25\"><span>credible news reports<\/span><\/a><span> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msnbc.com\/transcripts?search=%22anthony+fauci%22\">MSNBC interview transcripts<\/a> that suggest Fauci made such a comment inadvertently or intentionally<\/span><span>.
