The judge was <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/pennsylvania-racketeering-scranton-863f02b89f824c0296cdbbcf8a539bbf\">previously convicted<\/a> in 2011 and sentenced to 28 years in jail for taking $1 million in kickbacks from the builders of for-profit jails, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<div id=\"rev-more-content\">\n<p>Conahan was sentenced to 17 years in prison and was released to home confinement 11 years into his sentence due to the COVID-19 pandemic, AP reported.
