However, those probes will likely pale in comparison to the GOP\u2019s review of the FBI\u2019s investigation into Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Florida Rep. Byron Donalds, a member of the Oversight Committee, told the Daily Caller in a recent interview that he would be \u201cshocked\u201d if DOJ officials appear before the House ahead of the November midterms. Republicans have repeatedly <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/16\/republicans-take-education-fight-to-voters-with-congress-slow-to-act\/\">raised<\/a> the issue of Democrats\u2019 refusal to hold oversight hearings addressing issues like immigration and education.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNancy Pelosi doesn\u2019t want to do oversight of this administration, that\u2019s crystal clear,\u201d Donalds said. \u201cNone of this has happened, I doubt it\u2019s going to happen before November.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Republicans on the Oversight Committee <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/WYOSEzoPAK\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">issued<\/a> a document preservation request to the National Archives on Aug. 10, telling Acting Archivist Debra Wall to prepare to turn over any correspondences between the National Archives and the DOJ, as well as any records related to Trump\u2019s presidential papers. Trump is being <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/08\/08\/donald-trump-statement-fbi-raid-mar-a-lago-florida\/\">investigated<\/a> for alleged mishandling of classified documents, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/08\/12\/fbi-agents-11-classified-documents-mar-a-lago-raid-trump\/\">violations<\/a> of the Espionage Act and obstruction of justice. NARA must preserve all documents &#038; communications related to the warrant executed by the FBI at Mar-a-Lago.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s effort to weaponize the FBI cannot go unchecked. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/WYOSEzoPAK\">pic.twitter.com\/WYOSEzoPAK<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Oversight Committee Republicans (@GOPoversight) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GOPoversight\/status\/1557464317175398401?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 10, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThey need to hold all their evidence, we need to see all of it, and hold hearings accordingly,\u201d Donalds said of the preservation requests in the interview.<\/p>\n<p>Donalds expects the search to help his party in the November midterms, with Republicans campaigning against the investigation and in favor of oversight of the Bureau more generally. A <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/08\/10\/poll-mar-a-lago-raid-republicans-independents-midterm-vote\/\">poll<\/a> conducted by The Trafalgar Group and Convention of States found that more than 80% of Republicans and more than 70% of Independents say they are more likely to vote in the November midterms as a result of the raid.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVoters are already enthusiastic about going to vote. All this is going to do is add fuel to the fire,\u201d Donalds explained in the interview. \u201cThe voters have had enough, they\u2019ve seen enough. They\u2019re obviously going to want to make some major changes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are going to be a lot of members who are going to want to seek impeachment of Garland and Wray,\u201d Donalds noted. \u201cThe question is, \u2018can you get it through the Senate?\u2019 I\u2019m looking for the civil libertarian Democrats. Sens. Mark Warner of Virginia and Marco Rubio of Florida, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intelligence.senate.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">chairman<\/a> and vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2022\/08\/14\/marco-rubio-mark-warner-trumpfbi-search\">submitted<\/a> a letter to Garland and the Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines requesting information about the DOJ\u2019s rationale for the raid. The senators also requested an assessment of the threat posed by the alleged mishandling.<\/p>\n<p>Democratic Reps.
