Cupp went full groomer-apologist during a recent appearance on \u201c<em>CNN Tonight\u201d<\/em> in which she castigated Republicans for passing legislation designed to prevent school districts from infusing far-leftist ideology related to gender identity into K-12 classrooms.<\/p>\n<p>Host Alisyn Camerota brought the issue up when discussing the nationwide teacher shortage. She intimated that the lack of educators was related to Florida\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/jeffc\/2022\/04\/16\/washington-post-columnist-makes-the-most-braindead-argument-against-florida-parental-rights-law-n551480\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Parental Rights in Education Act<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/jeffc\/2022\/08\/16\/watch-refuting-the-free-speech-argument-about-the-stop-woke-act-n613013\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stop WOKE Act<\/a> along with similar laws passed in other states.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBoth bills are creating a culture of confusion among teachers who are nervous if they can be open to litigation by parents who somehow disagree with the curriculums,\u201d Camerota said. \u201cThis is happening in the middle of what the labor bureau is calling a nationwide teacher shortage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cupp responded, claiming that Kari Lake, a Republican running for Arizona governor, \u201cliterally wants to indoctrinate kids with the Trump approved curriculum from Hillsdale college in public schools.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI mean, literal indoctrination here, but it\u2019s the left that\u2019s woke. I just think the worst of it, there\u2019s gonna be lawsuits which are terrible, and then there\u2019s the villainization of teachers,\u201d she bloviated.<\/p>\n<p>The media activist then turned to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, slamming him for ignoring \u201cfederal guidance that would protect trans students from discrimination,\u201d and arguing that it could have \u201cincredibly dangerous, real-life effects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She added:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>They really are big government Republicans now. I mean, this is as intrusive as government gets into your private life. Your kids and school and education. This is all big government.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It appears Cupp doesn\u2019t understand that outlining how education is to be presented to children isn\u2019t exactly \u201cbig government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Every state lays out guidelines and mandates governing how education should be handled by school districts. It doesn\u2019t all of a sudden become \u201cbig government\u201d because a state chooses to shape its curriculum in a way that Cupp doesn\u2019t like.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the Parental Rights in Education Act only forbids teachers from instructing students younger than eight-years-old on matters pertaining to sexuality and gender identity. It\u2019s a sentiment with which most Americans agree, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/jeffc\/2022\/03\/17\/heres-how-the-majority-of-americans-feel-about-floridas-parental-rights-in-education-bill-n537225\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">polling<\/a> on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>But what Cupp and her ilk fail to realize is that these laws are about ensuring that children are actually being educated in important subjects like reading, writing, and math instead of being influenced to embrace progressive ideology. It is also about safeguarding parents\u2019 rights to have a say in how their children are educated and preventing schools from encouraging children who believe they are transgender to transition to the opposite sex behind their parents\u2019 backs.<\/p>\n<p>Apparently, folks like Cupp are more concerned with protecting efforts to indoctrinate children than with making sure parents are able to be involved in their children\u2019s education.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CNN media activist S.E.
