However, it is likely that a significant portion of green energy manufacturing will take place in China, the world\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/rhg.com\/research\/chinas-emissions-surpass-developed-countries\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">top<\/a> carbon emitter, where fossil fuels are a main source of energy, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eia.gov\/international\/analysis\/country\/CHN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to the Energy Information Administration (EIA). <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/08\/08\/federal-bureaucrats-thinking-ways-undermine-anti-china-sections-dems-spending-bill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Here\u2019s How China Could See A Massive Windfall From Dems\u2019 Big Spending Bill)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a deeply flawed and not fully thought-through plan,\u201d Mark Mills, energy and tech expert at the Manhattan Institute, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Massive quantities of essential minerals including cobalt, nickel, manganese, lithium and graphite are needed for batteries, solar panels and other renewable energy products. However, China, a nation that is considered an \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2020\/12\/22\/2020-28031\/addition-of-entities-to-the-entity-list-revision-of-entry-on-the-entity-list-and-removal-of-entities\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">entity of concern<\/a>,\u201d has a stranglehold on both the global supply and refinement of these minerals, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iea.org\/reports\/the-role-of-critical-minerals-in-clean-energy-transitions\/executive-summary\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to a 2021 International Energy Agency report.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe other part of the picture being ignored is that the pursuit of more minerals than the world (or China) can supply will cause mineral prices to inflate to record levels,\u201d Mills said. \u201cThat will impact the costs of building not just wind\/solar\/battery machines, but everything else made from the same minerals, such as copper and nickel.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"rev-more-content\">\n<p>China, which uses coal as a primary energy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eia.gov\/energyexplained\/us-energy-facts\/#:~:text=The%20United%20States%20uses%20a%20mix%20of%20energy%20sources&#038;text=Primary%20energy%20sources%20include%20fossil,produced)%20from%20primary%20energy%20sources.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">source<\/a>, produces 80% of the world\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/08\/09\/biden-admin-cracks-down-chinese-solar-panels-undermining-green-agenda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">solar panels<\/a> and 77% of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barrons.com\/amp\/articles\/china-ev-batteries-lithium-mining-51652889888\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lithium-ion batteries<\/a>.
