After 16 hours and a TWITTER FACT CHECK, this massively viral and dishonest tweet stands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The reality is that folks like O\u2019Donnell have gone from being \u201cthe pinnacle of journalism,\u201d as Budowich put it, to being a part of what longtime radio host Michael Savage once called \u201cthe government-media complex.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe media ladies and gentlemen \u2026 is needed by you, and by me, by the public \u2014 very badly needed \u2014 to be and to remain a thorn in the side of the government,\u201d Savage <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=dIbP4yknleU\">said in 1998<\/a>. \u201cIn order to keep the government relatively honest, you need media that\u2019s constantly poking at them. However, when the media instead becomes a thorn in the side of the skeptical private citizen, the media then becomes an arm of the government. Beware the government-media complex.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-four years later, the problem has only worsened.<\/p>\n<p>We now have years of media malfeasance about the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/musk-calls-out-2016-hillary-clinton-tweet-as-campaign-hoax\">Russiagate Hoax<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/exclusive-carter-page-it-was-not-political-bias-that-led-to-fbi-spying-on-me-but-policy-bias\">Carter Page<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/the-legacy-medias-fact-free-relationship-with-the-facts\">COVID-related stories<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/covington-catholic-hs-student-nick-sandmann-settles-250-million-lawsuit-with-the-washington-post\">Covington Catholic Kids<\/a>, and so many more stories that appear designed to smear Trump and other Republicans, not relay the truth.<\/p>\n<p>If O\u2019Donnell unintentionally spouted the government\u2019s talking points, she owes us a correction.
