She came back to the White House as a full-time adviser in May 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Given the nature of Dunn\u2019s role, Jeff Hauser of the Revolving Door Project\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/newsletters\/politico-influence\/2022\/08\/12\/anita-dunn-discloses-corporate-clients-00051541\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told Politico<\/a>\u00a0Dunn is \u201ctoo senior at a cross-cutting job\u201d to recuse herself in a meaningful way from all matters involving SKDK and past clients.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Because of Dunn\u2019s employment classification and salary level in 2021, she dodged the traditional ethics disclosure requirement government officials usually must submit (publicly disclosing past consulting clients, investments, and other possible conflicts of interest). Dunn was able to keep her firm\u2019s clients private, especially clients that had a particular interest in access to the Biden White House, such as Pfizer. <\/p>\n<p>Of course, the major pharmaceutical company would desire access to the nation\u2019s chief executive, especially as the administration devised its messaging on the Covid jab, kept up its health \u201cemergency\u201d facade, determined vaccine approval, and issued mandates requiring large swaths of Americans to get the shot or else risk losing their jobs.<\/p>\n<p>But now that Dunn\u2019s financial disclosures have been made public, Dunn and her husband, attorney Bob Bauer,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/08\/12\/biden-senior-advisor-anita-dunn-has-to-divest-investment-portfolio-to-avoid-conflict.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">must divest<\/a>\u00a0their massive investment portfolio worth between $16.8 million and $48.2 million. Dunn must also recuse herself from all matters involving SKDK and her past clients, though as Hauser noted, that\u2019s functionally impossible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re confused how you could possibly serve in the White House with just a Pfizer relationship given \u2026 Pfizer\u2019s ubiquity across the top issues for the administration \u2014 let alone the others,\u201d Hauser said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dunn\u2019s conflicts of interest extend beyond Pfizer. Last week, Biden signed the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2022\/08\/09\/fact-sheet-chips-and-science-act-will-lower-costs-create-jobs-strengthen-supply-chains-and-counter-china\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CHIPS and Science Act<\/a>\u00a0into law, and the same day, Micron announced it would invest $40 billion between now and 2030 to manufacture chips in the United States.
