A spokesperson for the politician confirmed the tweet is fabricated.<\/p>\n<div id=\"rev-more-content\">\n<p>Brandt, who hails from Melbourne, was first elected to the Australian House of Representatives in 2010 as a member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aph.gov.au\/Senators_and_Members\/Parliamentarian?MPID=M3C\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Australian Greens<\/a>. He has been re-elected four times since, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aph.gov.au\/Senators_and_Members\/Parliamentarian?MPID=M3C\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Australian Parliament\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span>An image shared on Facebook appears to show a screenshot of a tweet from him in which he says that drug dealers should not be blamed for people\u2019s drug-related problems. \u201cYearly reminder that drug dealers aren\u2019t to blame for your loved one\u2019s banned drug-related problems,\u201d reads the alleged tweet. \u201cQuite the opposite: dealers often act as community elders, keeping an eye out for regulars and providing a stigma-free community connection point.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy would Adam Bandt post this???\u201d reads the image\u2019s caption. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/04\/25\/fact-check-zelenskyy-drug-use-interview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did Volodymyr Zelenskyy Endorse Drug Use In An Interview?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>This screenshot is digitally fabricated. The tweet cannot be found on Bandt\u2019s verified <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=Yearly%20reminder%20that%20drug%20dealers%20aren%E2%80%99t%20to%20blame%20for%20your%20loved%20one%E2%80%99s%20banned%20drug-related%20problems%20(from%3Aadambandt)&#038;src=typed_query\"><span>Twitter account<\/span><\/a><span>.
