Mike Rounds (R-S.D.) told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/meet-the-press\/meet-press-august-14-2022-n1297903\">NBC\u2019s \u201cMeet the Press\u201d<\/a> on Aug. 14.<\/p>\n<p>A search warrant used by the FBI and an inventory of seized documents <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/mkt_app\/judge-unseals-mar-a-lago-raid-warrant-reveals-why-fbi-is-investigating-trump_4661031.html\">released<\/a> last week after the unprecedented <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/trump-fbi-has-raided-mar-a-lago-property-under-siege_4651554.html\">Aug. 8 raid<\/a>, showed that Trump allegedly had four sets of top-secret documents and seven other sets of classified information at his home, and that the Justice Department conducted the search based on possible Espionage Act violations.<\/p>\n<p>Trump, on the other hand, slammed the raid as \u201cnot necessary or appropriate,\u201d arguing that he had \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/trump-all-mar-a-lago-materials-were-declassified_4661231.html\">declassified<\/a>\u201d all of the records he took to Florida before leaving office.<\/p>\n<p>GOP lawmakers deemed the FBI\u2019s move a \u201cwitch hunt\u201d driven by political motives, and are joining in the calls for a detailed justification.<\/p>\n<p>The Justice Department should \u201cshow that this was not just a fishing expedition, that they had due cause to go in and to do this, that they did exhaust all other means,\u201d Rounds said. \u201cAnd if they can\u2019t do that, then we\u2019ve got a serious problem on our hands. If they are able to do that and to come forward, they should do that as quickly as they can.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> \u2018Unprecedented Action\u2019 <\/p>\n<p>Rep.
