The letter to Klain also demanded records sent between or among the Executive Office of the President and \u201cthe National Archives and Records Administration about the Trump Administration\u2019s presidential records.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease provide this material as soon as possible, but no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 29, 2022,\u201d the letters read. <\/p>\n<p>In addition to the August 29 deadline, House Judiciary Republicans have also requested that Biden White House, DOJ, and FBI \u201cpreserve all documents, communications, and other information, including electronic information and metadata, that are or may be potentially responsive to this inquiry,\u201d suggesting that the GOP is preparing to launch strong oversight measures if they take control of Congress after the 2022 midterms.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI raid on Trump\u2019s Florida home has sent shockwaves throughout the country, especially after the search warrant authorizing the government raid became public late last week. As <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/12\/breaking-fbi-raid-warrant-demanded-seizure-of-literally-any-record-trump-ever-saw-during-4-year-presidential-term\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> by Federalist Western Correspondent Tristan Justice, \u201cthe warrant demanded confiscation of any document Trump ever saw, read, or created for the entirety of his four years as commander-in-chief.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn Monday, three days after the warrant was signed, FBI officials conducted the hours-long raid of the 128-room estate which reportedly\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/08\/09\/fbi-even-searched-melanias-wardrobe-in-trump-raid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">included<\/a>\u00a0an intrusive search of former First Lady Melania Trump\u2019s wardrobe,\u201d Justice wrote. \u201cWhile ostensibly executed under the pretext of violations of the Presidential Records Act, a law that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/trump-mar-a-lago-raid-2024-ballot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rarely results in prosecutions<\/a>, the raid has become the latest episode of Democrats weaponizing the Justice Department to go after political opponents, with Trump at the top as public enemy No. 1.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The affidavit purportedly demonstrating probable cause has not been released to the public by the DOJ or \u201cthe federal court that sealed it.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n<p>\n  Shawn Fleetwood is an intern at The Federalist and a graduate of the University of Mary Washington.
