Kareem Nikoui who was killed while stationed in Kabul during the Afghanistan withdrawal, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxla.com\/news\/brother-of-marine-killed-in-afghanistan-withdrawal-commits-suicide-at-memorial-for-fallen-service-member\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to Fox 11.<\/p>\n<p>Chappell told friends in the post that Halverson had been \u201ctalking a lot lately about how he just wants to be with Kareem, how much he misses him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe all feel that way so I didn\u2019t see the signs. This morning my son Dakota went to be with his brother Kareem,\u201d she continued. \u201cI am still in shock over this right now and I can\u2019t believe that it\u2019s real,\u201d Chappell added.<\/p>\n<div id=\"rev-more-content\">\n<p>Chappell remembered her son as having a \u201cheart of Gold\u201d who would \u201cdo anything for anyone\u201d in a follow-up <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/socal.angel.3\/posts\/pfbid0soGWonvAUz6ASrapKdF7MXMNauTiCPnfH2rAfBsf7CM69xuSariApQ8E24ALWg7Ul\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">post<\/a>. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/31\/california-hikers-honor-marine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: \u2018Heaven Is Getting A Good Warrior\u2019: Hundreds Of California Hikers Honor Fallen Marine)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Chappell said in the post that she has a lot of \u201cguilt\u201d because Kalverson \u201chad been expressing some of the things that had been bothering him and one of those things was the loss of his brother Kareem and how he just wanted to be with him again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was still having a hard time believing he was actually gone. He\u2019d sneak into the cemetery at night and sleep on Kareem\u2019s resting place,\u201d Chappell added.<\/p>\n<p>Nikoui was one of 13 American service members killed during the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/26\/pentagon-kabul-airport-explosion-afghanistan-taliban\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Aug. 26 attack<\/a> at the Kabul Airport that killed nearly 200 people.
