Carolyn Maloney in an interview published Saturday with The New York Times editorial board.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOff the record, he\u2019s not running again,\u201d Maloney said,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/maloney-off-record-that-biden-is-not-running-in-2024-2022-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">apparently unaware<\/a> her comments <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/08\/13\/opinion\/carolyn-maloney-nyt-interview.html?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">were on the record<\/a>. \u201cNot off the record. On the record,\u201d editorial board member Jyoti Thottam interjected.<\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t the first time <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/08\/03\/jerry-nadler-carolyn-maloney-biden-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Maloney was forced to answer<\/a> whether Biden should or will run again. On August 2nd, during a Democratic primary debate Maloney said of Biden:\u00a0\u201cI don\u2019t believe he\u2019s running for reelection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/08\/03\/politics\/carolyn-maloney-biden-reelection\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">walked it back<\/a> in a CNN interview. \u201cIf he decides to run, I\u2019m supporting him. I\u2019m supporting him and I don\u2019t have other comment,\u201d Maloney said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"rev-more-content\">\n<p>\u201cI think that he\u2019s done a terrific job and most recently the inflation reduction plan. There are so many good things in it for the economy and for people. And I\u2019m supporting him if he runs. OK?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Maloney is facing off against Rep. Jerry Nadler in a member-on-member primary in the newly redrawn 12th district. Nadler is the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, and originally represented the neighboring 10th district until it was redrawn this year.<\/p>\n<p>Maloney isn\u2019t the only Democrat in her primary to deflect a question on Biden\u2019s political future. Nadler also sidestepped the question, claiming it\u2019s \u201ctoo early to say,\u201d and that it \u201cdoesn\u2019t serve the purpose of the Democratic Party, to deal with that until after the midterms,\u201d according to Business Insider.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Joe Biden is not running for reelection in 2024, according to a comment by Democrat New York Rep.
