The boos were so audible they could even be heard on the Jaguars\u2019 TV <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MrMatthewCFB\/status\/1558229516761415681?s=20&#038;t=-Qxja7OFYDPOd3F74GnLeg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">broadcast<\/a>, as one Twitter user shared.<\/p>\n<p>A video posted to Twitter by podcaster Eric Dunn showed fans in the end zone behind Watson chanting \u201cno means no\u201d as Watson stepped onto the field. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/barstoolsports\/status\/1558254968993452032?s=20&#038;t=4IsjXwbtZEswZcZ60mDeHg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Barstool Sports<\/a> shared another video showing Jaguars fans in the same area chanting \u201cyou sick f***\u201d at Watson as he broke the huddle and lined up for the first play.<\/p>\n<p>Watson was accused of sexual assault and inappropriate conduct by 25 masseuses between March 2020 and March 2021. Watson was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/browns-superstar-qb-deshaun-watson-learns-fate-in-massage-sex-scandal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">suspended<\/a> for the first 6 games of the 2022 season by NFL disciplinary officer and former federal judge Sue L. Robinson on August 1. The NFL has since appealed the decision and is seeking a harsher penalty for the Browns\u2019 signal-caller under the league\u2019s personal conduct policy.<\/p>\n<p>Watson sat out for the entire 2021 season amidst a dispute with his former team, the Houston Texans, before the sexual assault allegations broke. Two grand juries in the state of Texas <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/houston-texans-quarterback-will-not-face-criminal-charges-for-sexual-assault-allegations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">declined<\/a> to criminally prosecute Watson, and he has since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/embattled-browns-qb-settles-with-20-of-the-masseuses-accusing-him-of-sexual-misconduct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">settled out of court<\/a> with most of the women who accused him of sexual misconduct.<\/p>\n<p>Watson issued an on-camera apology in a pregame interview with CBS Sports correspondent Aditi Kinkhabwala.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to say that I\u2019m truly sorry to all of the women that I have impacted in this situation,\u201d Watson said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Browns\/status\/1558221792048717824?s=20&#038;t=AhZ_0qzlftsgB9UKIaKJMA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">clip<\/a> shared by the Browns on Twitter. \u201cThe decisions that I made in my life that put me in this position, I would definitely like to have back, but I want to continue to move forward and grow and learn and show that I am a true person of character, and I am going to keep pushing forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kinkhabwala made mention of the fact that Watson\u2019s \u201clack of remorse\u201d was a factor in determining the length of Watson\u2019s suspension.<\/p>\n<p>Watson did not have a strong start to his Browns tenure.
