The $80 billion in additional IRS funding for \u201cenforcement\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/house-democrats-pass-the-senates-inflation-reduction-act_4660815.html\">passed the House on Aug. 12<\/a> and is on the fast track to be signed into law by President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-joe-biden\">Joe Biden<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Since June 2021, the private and legally-protected information from the tax returns for Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Michael Bloomberg, Warren Buffett, Peter Thiel, and others has been published continually by the liberal group ProPublica. Biden administration officials have testified to Congress that they are investigating the leaks, but it still hasn\u2019t been solved.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe billionaires\u2019 leak to ProPublica\u00a0was a test run, and they learned that there are no punishments for it. Now the\u00a0IRS will have more money to do this,\u201d Grover Norquist, the president of Americans for Tax Reform (ATR), a taxpayer advocacy group, told The Epoch Times. \u201cPretty soon, it will be de facto that\u00a0the tax returns of anyone the IRS or the Democrat president does not like can\u2014and will\u2014be leaked when the Democrats wish.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> The IRS Billionaire Leak <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.propublica.org\/article\/the-secret-irs-files-trove-of-never-before-seen-records-reveal-how-the-wealthiest-avoid-income-tax\">The first leak published<\/a>\u00a0on the billionaires\u2019 tax rates was timed last year to support Biden\u2019s proposed $1.8 trillion spending bill that hiked taxes for the wealthy. He also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2021\/04\/28\/fact-sheet-the-american-families-plan\/\">called on Congress<\/a> to \u201cincrease investment in the IRS, while ensuring that the additional resources go toward enforcement against those with the highest income.\u201d This morphed into the so-called \u201cInflation Reduction Act\u201d which passed the House Friday on a straight, party-line vote,\u00a0 220\u2013207.<\/p>\n<p>The editors of ProPublica <a href=\"https:\/\/www.propublica.org\/article\/the-inside-story-of-how-we-reported-the-secret-irs-files\">openly advocate<\/a> for more funding for the IRS to increase audits.
