I believe I have a powerful claim and I want federal courts to hear it,\u201d Berenson told The Epoch Times in an email.<\/p>\n<p>Berenson plans to file the lawsuit in federal court and name Andy Slavitt, a onetime White House COVID-19 response official, as a defendant.<\/p>\n<p>Among the evidence backing the alleged First Amendment violation: internal April 2021 messages from Twitter employees discussing a meeting with Slavitt and other White House officials.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow was WH,\u201d one of the workers wrote in an internal Slack channel, according to screenshots Berenson <a href=\"https:\/\/alexberenson.substack.com\/p\/the-white-house-privately-demanded\">published on Friday<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOverall, pretty good! they had one really tough question about why Alex Berenson hasn\u2019t been kicked off from the platform,\u201d another worker responded.<\/p>\n<p>In another set of messages, one worker asked if there were any \u201chigh level takeaways from the meeting,\u201d prompting a colleague to say that \u201cthey really wanted to know about Alex Berenson.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAndy Slavitt suggested they had seen data [visualizations] that had showed he was the epicenter of disinfo[rmation] that radiated outwards to the persuadable public,\u201d the colleague added.<\/p>\n<p>Berenson obtained the messages as part of his suit against Twitter, which was voluntarily dismissed in July after Twitter agreed to lift the ban.<\/p>\n<p>In that case, a federal judge had said evidence indicated Twitter violated its own policies in banning Berenson in 2021 for allegedly spreading misinformation about COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>Berenson, formerly of the New York Times, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/twitter-reinstates-journalist-alex-berenson-who-immediately-posts-about-covid-19-vaccines_4580617.html\">was reinstated to Twitter on July 6<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe parties have come to a mutually acceptable resolution. Twitter has reinstated Mr. Berenson\u2019s account. Upon further review, Twitter acknowledges Mr. Berenson\u2019s Tweets should not have led to his account\u2019s suspension at that time,\u201d a Twitter spokesperson told The Epoch Times in an email at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter, the White House, and Slavitt did not return requests for comment on Berenson\u2019s planned suit, and the reported internal messages.<\/p>\n<p>Berenson said he\u2019s also obtained internal Twitter emails as well as missives to Twitter employees from outside parties and other documents, but has chosen not to post them at this time.<\/p>\n<p>White House officials have publicly urged Big Tech companies to crack down on alleged misinformation and disinformation. Recently disclosed emails from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention employees to executives at the companies <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/cdc-met-with-big-tech-officials-in-bid-to-tackle-covid-19-misinformation-emails-show_4630326.html\">showed health officials highlighting specific posts<\/a> they claimed were spreading false or misleading messages.<\/p>\n<p>The attorneys general of Missouri and Louisiana, meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/great-barrington-declaration-authors-join-lawsuit-against-alleged-government-big-tech-collusion_4640259.html\">sued the Biden administration<\/a>, Twitter, and other parties over alleged collusion, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/subpoenas-going-to-return-treasure-trove-of-documents-from-biden-administration-louisiana-ag_4635379.html\">are expected to receive discovery soon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"author_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"one_author_block round\">\n<div class=\"top_row\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/author-zachary-stieber\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Follow<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Zachary Stieber covers U.S. and world news.
