A spokesperson for CBC News denied the authenticity of the purported article.<\/p>\n<p>Nearly half of all Canadians who participated in an online survey last year said they believe journalists are \u201cpurposely trying to mislead people by saying things they know are false or gross exaggerations,\u201d according to a March 2021 article published by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/editorsblog\/editor-blog-trust-1.5936535\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CBC News<\/a>. About 52 percent of those who participated in the survey also claimed that the media is partisan, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<div id=\"rev-more-content\">\n<p>Now, an image shared on Facebook appears to show an Aug. 9 article from CBC that claims Canadian trust in media is at an all-time high. \u201cCanadians\u2019 trust in the media is at an all-time high, study finds,\u201d reads the alleged article\u2019s headline. \u201cNine out of ten Canadians polled said they had strong or absolute trust in CBC News, a CBC study has found,\u201d the subheadline continues.<\/p>\n<p>The image is digitally fabricated.
