Trump has since denied wrongdoing and upheld the call as &#8220;perfect.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Willis&#8217;s inquiry has also focused on two phone calls Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) had with Raffensperger, the <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/us-attorney-in-georgia-abruptly-resigns\">sudden resignation<\/a> of a U.S. attorney in Georgia, and controversial election claims Trump lawyer Rudy <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/politics\/giuliani-doubles-down-on-georgia-fraud-theory-and-says-smoking-gun-video-shows-election-rigging\">Giuliani<\/a> made to the state Senate in December 2020. <\/p>\n<p>A special grand jury was <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/courts\/special-grand-jury-selected-for-fulton-county-inquiry-of-trump-election-activity\">impaneled<\/a> in May to assist with the inquiry and issue subpoenas. Willis has kept the door open to subpoenaing Trump but has declined to do so thus far. The inquiry has subpoenaed Graham, Giuliani, and a slew of other Trump allies. <\/p>\n<p>Recently, prominent lawyer Dwight Thomas confirmed Trump&#8217;s team had been consulting with him to help navigate the inquiry. Thomas is one of the most high-profile lawyers in the area, with decades of legal experience under his belt. <\/p>\n<p>\u201dSeveral lawyers have reached out to me about my expertise in special purpose grand juries,\u201d Thomas told the news outlet. \u201cI\u2019m helping quite a few lawyers who have interest in this matter.\u201d <\/p>\n<p><b><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/b> <\/p>\n<p>The <i>Washington Examiner <\/i>reached out to Findling for comment. <\/p>\n<p>In addition to Fulton County, Trump is reportedly facing legal scrutiny in multiple other cases. This includes a Justice Department <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/trump-says-fbi-raided-mar-a-lago\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">review of his handling<\/a> of presidential documents, a <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/trump-investigation-jan-6-justice-department\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DOJ inquiry<\/a> about the Jan. 6 riot, New York Attorney General Letitia James&#8217;s <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/courts\/trump-says-he-declined-answer-questions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">civil review<\/a> of his business practices, and the Manhattan district attorney&#8217;s <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/courts\/manhattan-da-feared-indicting-trump-ex-prosecutor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">criminal examination<\/a> of the Trump Organization.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former President Donald Trump is reportedly tapping a prominent defense lawyer to help him navigate the Fulton County inquiry.
