Michael Cloud (R-Texas).<\/p>\n<p>Cloud was one of around a dozen members of the Republican Study Committee who met with Trump over dinner at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, a day after the Aug. 8 raid, which has been characterized by Trump and his allies as an attempt from Democrats to keep him from running for president again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot only has the FBI\u2019s raid of President Trump\u2019s home fueled his spirit and energized his supporters\u2014but for those on the fence, it\u2019s pulled back the curtain on the deep partisan bias which has become entrenched in much of the bureaucracy,\u201d Cloud told The Epoch Times.<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement from Trump on Aug. 8, \u201ca large group of FBI agents\u201d raided his home at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.<\/p>\n<p>The event, Trump said, was a \u201cweaponization of the justice system\u201d and an \u201cattack by the radical left Democrats who desperately don\u2019t want me to run for president in 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s second-oldest son, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-eric-trump\">Eric Trump<\/a>, said that FBI agents breached a personal safe that was empty. Agents wouldn\u2019t permit Trump\u2019s representatives to oversee the 10-hour search and removed boxes of documents from Mar-a-Lago, Trump\u2019s lawyer Christina Bobb told The Epoch Times.<\/p>\n<p>Agents were given access to a storage facility at the residence in June but didn\u2019t leave with anything then, Bobb added.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI raid is reportedly connected to a Department of Justice (DOJ) exploration into whether Trump took presidential records after he left office on Jan. 20, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Trump representatives have repeatedly said that he cooperated with the National Archives and Records Administration on the matter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former President Donald Trump\u2019s resolve to \u201cpush back on corruption that\u2019s become entrenched in many of the agencies in Washington D.C.\u201d has been strengthened by the FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago residence, according to Rep.
