With the encouragement of his adoptive parents, David embarks on a journey of discovery that leads to a staggering truth from his past.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It stars Cameron, Rebecca Rogers Nelson, Raphael Ruggero, Dawn Long, Justin Sterner, Marisa Hampton and Alex Kendrick. Both Cameron and Kendrick act in the movie and are executive producers on the film. It comes just months after the U.S. Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade\u00a0as a result of the decision in <em>Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization<\/em>.\u00a0The ruling recognizes that there is no constitutional right to an abortion and returns the issue to the states, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/victory-pro-life-leaders-react-to-overturn-of-roe-v-wade\">The Daily Wire<\/a> previously reported.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cFireproof\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/kirk-cameron-says-its-time-for-a-homeschool-awakening-in-trailer-for-upcoming-documentary\">star<\/a> told us that one thing a lot of people might not know is they started making the movie \u201ctwo and a half years ago,\u201d but the pandemic delayed things.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had no idea that the timing of the release of this film, which was delayed by COVID, would be so unbelievable with the overturning of <em>Roe V. Wade,<\/em>\u201d Kirk explained.\u00a0\u201cPeople talk about pro-life, pro-choice, but they forget about the adoption option.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt seems that we\u2019re divided almost by design over everything imaginable,\u201d he added. \u201cFrom politics to race to gender to vaccination status, and most recently over this issue of life and abortion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need a way to look at this issue through the lens of love \u2014 love for the birth mom, love for the unborn baby, love for the adoptive parents who are longing to have a baby,\u201d the actor continued. \u201cAnd \u2018Lifemark\u2019 shows a compassionate, beautiful solution to a very difficult problem in our culture today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cameron explained that the movie came to be after he watched a link sent to him of \u201ca little documentary\u201d detailing the real-life story of David Scotton, which\u00a0was \u201cthe basis\u201d for the film. It\u2019s called \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilivedonparkerave.com\">I Lived on Parker Avenue<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said it touched him personally because it was about adoption, something he and his wife, Chelsea Noble, are very familiar with after they adopted the first four of their six kids \u2014 not because they couldn\u2019t have children, he explained. But because they wanted to and thought it was a \u201cbeautiful way to have a family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cameron said his wife and four children \u201cwere one doctor appointment away from not being here.\u201d\u00a0Kirk added that if his wife hadn\u2019t been born, then neither would their two natural born kids.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd you saw the movie, you saw the power of one choice,\u201d the \u201cGrowing Pains\u201d star shared. \u201cAnd when a woman chooses adoption she has no idea what\u2019s going to happen. But what can happen is the answers to the prayers of that couple who couldn\u2019t have kids. And this amazing life of this young man.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kirk talked about how this film is pro-family, pro-reconciliation, pro-forgiveness, and so much more. He said he hopes the movie \u201cnot only provides the adoption option as a solution to the difficult culture problem that we\u2019re continuing to fight about.\u00a0But that more families will be formed when people get comfortable and excited about the beauty of adoption.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s love, that\u2019s grace,\u201d the actor explained. \u201cAnd God makes families in incredible ways.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cameron said he hopes another thing people came way with from the film is that abortion, even though it\u2019s often \u201cframed as woman\u2019s issue\u201d and that \u201cmen need to stay out of\u201d it, that \u201ccouldn\u2019t be further from the truth,\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He noted a statistic that shows women who have abortions say the \u201cnumber one\u201d influential person in their life to help her make the decision is \u201cthe father of the child.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s men who are carrying around all of these thoughts and emotions, guilt and shame and pain and all this because they know that there are long lasting, emotional effects to abortion,\u201d Cameron told us. \u201cAnd I\u2019m hoping that people will watch this movie, regardless of whether they are pro-life or pro-choice and it leaves them with this message of life is precious. Forgiveness is available. Reconciliation and new beginnings are possible. And we don\u2019t need to fight over a difficult unplanned pregnancy.
