Surprisingly, left area in a relative mess. Wow!\u201d Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/108806026529772871\">wrote<\/a> on Truth Social.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not clear if Trump was referring to reports from the New York Post and other media outlets earlier this week, which cited anonymous sources, that claimed the agents went through her personal belongings.<\/p>\n<p>The former first lady has not issued any public statements on the FBI raid. The Epoch Times has contacted spokespersons for the former president.<\/p>\n<p>Trump on Truth Social confirmed the FBI\u2019s Mar-a-Lago raid on Monday evening, accusing the Biden administration and Department of Justice of using the agency for political ends.<\/p>\n<p> Approval <\/p>\n<p>Since then, the FBI and Justice Department have remained tight-lipped, having issued no public comments on the search until Attorney General Merrick Garland\u2019s press conference on Thursday afternoon. The attorney general <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/ag-merrick-garland-says-he-personally-approved-fbis-trump-raid_4658779.html\">confirmed<\/a> that he \u201cpersonally approved\u201d the FBI raid and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/biden-administration-asks-court-to-unseal-trump-search-warrant-materials_4658866.html\">said<\/a> his agency is filing a motion to unseal a warrant that was used to search the former president\u2019s property.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI personally approved the decision to seek a search warrant in this matter \u2026 the Department does not take such a decision lightly,\u201d Garland said.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Merrick-Garland-e1660247308165-1200x736-1.jpg\"><\/a> Attorney General Merrick Garland delivers a statement at the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, DC. on Aug. 11, 2022.
