The incident sparked a flurry of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/08\/09\/potential-2024-contenders-ron-desantis-react-mar-a-lago-raid-donald-trump-fbi\/\">reactions<\/a> from both <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/08\/09\/donald-trump-raid-mar-a-lago-fbi-federal-bureau-of-investigations\/\">sides<\/a> of the aisle, but the DOJ remained silent for days afterwards. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/08\/11\/senator-ron-johnson-letter-mar-a-lago-trump-raid-fbi-doj-whistleblower\/\">(RELATED:\u00a0EXCLUSIVE: Sen. Ron Johnson Calls For FBI, DOJ Employees To Come Forward With Info On Trump Mar-A-Lago Raid)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Garland declined to provide further details of the search, but noted that he \u201cpersonally approved the decision to seek\u201d the warrant. He also decried \u201crecent unfounded attacks on the professionalism of the FBI and Justice Department agents and prosecutors,\u201d declaring he would \u201cnot stand by silently.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust now, the Justice Department has filed a motion in the Southern District of Florida to unseal a search warrant and property receipt relating to a court approved search that the FBI conducted earlier this week,\u201d Garland told the nation. \u201cThat search was a premises located in Florida, belonging to the former president.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe department did not make any public statements on the day of the search,\u201d Garland added.<\/p>\n<p>Trump, in a statement issued Monday after the FBI search, suggested the incident was politically motivated and noting that agents \u201ceven broke into\u201d his safe.
