Ted Budd (R-NC) is planning to submit an amendment to the so-called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/117th-congress\/house-bill\/5376\">Inflation Reduction Act<\/a>\u00a0on Wednesday that would redirect billions in Internal Revenue Service (IRS) funding to boost border security, Breitbart News has learned exclusively.<\/p>\n<p>Budd\u2019s proposed amendment is in response to Democrats\u2019 attempt to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/08\/03\/democrats-latest-plan-target-middle-class-americans-with-irs-audits-keep-billionaire-loopholes-open\/\">unleash<\/a> the IRS on middle-class Americans by hiring more agents and massively bulking up IRS audits and criminal investigations to the tune of tens of billions of dollars. The amendment would redirect more than $69 billion of that funding to combat the U.S.-Mexico border crisis overseen by the Biden administration.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201c<span>Instead of hiring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/08\/08\/republicans-blast-weaponization-fbi-trump-imagine-87k-irs-agents\/\">87,000 more IRS agents<\/a> to treat working families like tax cheats, that funding should be directed to the crisis on the southern border. In FY 2022, there have been over 500,000 \u2018got-aways\u2019 at the border, and 8,400 pounds of fentanyl has been seized,\u201d Budd told Breitbart News in a statement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>READ:\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"View BUDD -- Amendment Redirecting IRS Funding to Border Security on Scribd\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/586420261\/BUDD-Amendment-Redirecting-IRS-Funding-to-Border-Security#from_embed\">BUDD \u2014 Amendment Redirecting IRS Funding to Border Security<\/a> by <a title=\"View Breitbart News&#039;s profile on Scribd\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/publisher\/298980670\/Breitbart-News#from_embed\">Breitbart News<\/a> on Scribd<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>While the amendment would retain $15 million for the IRS to create a free e-file system, it would redirect $25 billion to build the border wall, more than $20 billion to hire 10,000 more border patrol agents, and more than $20 billion to hire 10,000 more ICE Enforcement and Removal agents.\u00a0It would also provide $3.87 billion in IRS funds to hire 366 immigration judges (bringing the total to 1,000) and 60 staff attorneys for the Board of Immigration Appeals.<\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe should be devoting more resources to the Biden Border Crisis, instead of making life harder for working families who are struggling under the weight of the Biden Recession,\u201d Budd added.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Lastly, the amendment includes a bill Budd <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/04\/08\/gop-rep-ted-budd-introduces-bill-to-remove-red-tape-unlock-funding-for-border-wall-construction\/\">introduced<\/a> in April, the \u201c<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/budd.house.gov\/uploadedfiles\/build_the_wall_now_act.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">Build the Wall Now Act<\/a>,\u201d which is designed to counteract the Biden administration\u2019s efforts to stall construction of the border wall. That bill would\u00a0unlock $2.1 billion in unspent funding appropriated for its construction.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, the Senate passed the $700 billion Inflation Reduction Act \u2014 a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/08\/07\/senate-passes-700-billion-inflation-reduction-bill\/\">scaled-down version<\/a> of the Build Back Better Act. The legislation\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/07\/28\/democrat-reconciliation-bill-aims-reduce-deficit-boost-climate-change-obamacare\/\">focuses<\/a> on reducing the deficit and curbing inflation, extending enhanced Obamacare subsidies, spending more than $300 billion on climate change programs, and allowing Medicare to negotiate the price of drugs. However, both the Penn Wharton Budget\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/07\/29\/wharton-study-democrat-reconciliation-bill-would-have-zero-impact-inflation\/\">Model<\/a>\u00a0and the Congressional Budget\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.budget.senate.gov\/ranking-member\/newsroom\/press\/cbo-confirms-to-graham-dems-inflation-reduction-act-wont-reduce-inflation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">Office<\/a>\u00a0(CBO) contend the legislation would not actually reduce inflation.<\/p>\n<p>The Inflation Reduction Act will go up for a vote in the House on Friday.
