The regulatory actions were instead based on kids\u2019 immune systems generating similar levels of antibodies to adults, with the adult levels established in the original trials completed in 2020. Officials believe antibodies help protect people against COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>CDC analysts graded (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/vaccines\/acip\/meetings\/downloads\/slides-2022-06-17-18\/03-COVID-Oliver-508.pdf\">pdf<\/a>) the evidence that Pfizer\u2019s vaccine prevented COVID-19 as \u201cvery low certainty,\u201d expressing \u201cvery serious concerns<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Top U.S. health agencies should not have authorized and recommended COVID-19 vaccines for children under 5, a complaint lodged on Aug. 9 says.
