Lerner was a registered Democrat, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/story\/2014\/09\/lois-lerner-breaks-silence-irs-scandal-111181\">Politico.<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-qa=\"drop-cap-letter\" data-el=\"text\">Judge Bruce Reinhart was asked about Lerner\u2019s missing emails. He stated, \u201cLet me put it this way: Incompetence doesn\u2019t necessarily lead to criminality.\u201d He suggested the reason for the disappearing emails was \u201cincompetence,\u201d contending, \u201cThe IRS has one of the most antiquated computer systems in the world, and the fact that emails could have disappeared without Ms. Lerner knowing about it or Ms. Lerner being involved is entirely credible to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I\u2019m sure that will be her explanation, is that she was a very high-level person in the Department,\u201d Reinhart surmised. \u201cWhen the subpoena came in from Congress, it was delegated down to people who did this for a living; they were instructed to find everything. Information came back up to her that said, \u2018This is what we have,\u2019 she reported what she was told, and it turns out to be not to be true, but that\u2019s not a crime. If she didn\u2019t know it wasn\u2019t true, that\u2019s not a crime.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The host pointed out that an email written by Lerner read, \u201cI was cautioning folks about email and how we have had several occasions where Congress has asked for emails and there has been an electronic search for responsive emails \u2014 so we need to be cautious about what we say in emails.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt could be read one way to say, \u2018Destroy what we already have,\u2019 which of course would be criminal, or it could be construed to say, \u2018Going forward, recognize that Congress could ask for our emails, so be careful what you put in writing,\u2019\u201d Reinhart argued, concluding, \u201cI think at the end of the day, what originally happened here is probably not a crime, and to the extent that there\u2019s concerns about the non-production of the emails I think she has enough insulation between her and those production issues that barring some other smoking gun I don\u2019t see it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Watch the mental gymnastics that Bruce Reinhart (judge who signed off on Mar-a-Lago warrant) goes through to defend Lois Lerner deleting two years of emails during the IRS scandal. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/AOva9wnVF4\">pic.twitter.com\/AOva9wnVF4<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Maze (@mazemoore) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mazemoore\/status\/1557116112898342918?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 9, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/irs-lois-lerner-called-republicans-crazies-in-email\/\">CBS News<\/a>, in some of Lerner\u2019s emails she had referred to members of the GOP as \u201ccrazies\u201d and \u201ca**holes.\u201d In response to the revelations from some of Lerner\u2019s emails, Republican Rep.
