An appeal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/new-york-high-court-rejects-trump-appeal-clearing-way-for-testimony_4533627.html\">was rejected<\/a> by the state\u2019s top appeals court in June.<\/p>\n<p>Trump said that based on his counsel\u2019s advice, \u201cI declined to answer the questions under the rights and privileges afforded to every citizen under the United States Constitution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>James\u2019 office declined to comment.<\/p>\n<p> Subpoenas <\/p>\n<p>Subpoenas for documents and testimony were issued in December 2021.
