This time, he is reviewing cases, as he looks to release several violent criminals back onto the streets.<\/p>\n<p>Gascon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/la-da-gascon-vows-resentence-inmates-racist-death-row-angering-victims-families\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claims<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe reality is a death penalty doesn\u2019t make us safer. It is racist. It\u2019s morally untenable, its irreversible and expensive \u2026 And it\u2019s not just off the table going forward. I am committed to resentencing those currently on death row to life in prison.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>There is a reason those criminals are on death row. Here are a few of the inmates who are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/la-da-gascon-vows-resentence-inmates-racist-death-row-angering-victims-families\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">not<\/a> on death row due to Gascon\u2019s pro-crime policies:<\/p>\n<p>(1998) Cameron Ward \u2014 gang member who killed two teenagers for crossing into this neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p>(1995) Donald Smith \u2014 convicted by a jury of killing two men to take their business.<\/p>\n<p>Douglas Kelly, a personal trainer \u2014 sexually assaulted and then stabbed his client 30 times with a pair of scissors.<\/p>\n<p>Katerine Thompson \u2014 hired a man to kill her husband in order to collect a $400,000 life insurance policy.<\/p>\n<p>All those inmates listed have been removed from death row.<\/p>\n<p>Cathy Kady, a former prosecutor for 30 years, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/la-da-gascon-vows-resentence-inmates-racist-death-row-angering-victims-families\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tells<\/a> Fox News:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cGascon is now essentially trying to undo every possible death sentence in Los Angeles County. And this is going back several decades \u2013 cases that happened 30 years ago, 40 years ago \u2026 Surviving murder victims\u2019 families relied on this sentence knowing that justice was going to be done. And for the public, it is equally devastating because these people could then be released into our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In 2019, California Governor Gavin Newsom <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/la-da-gascon-vows-resentence-inmates-racist-death-row-angering-victims-families\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">imposed<\/a> a ban on executions and opposes the death penalty. This year, the career politician decided to <a href=\"https:\/\/deathpenaltyinfo.org\/news\/california-governor-gavin-newsom-orders-dismantling-of-californias-death-row\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dismantle<\/a> death row. But when questioned about crime in his state, whether it\u2019s smash-and-grabs, murder, hate crimes, and more, he acts surprised and always passes the blame onto someone else like a true politician would. As my colleagues and I have covered <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/levon\/2022\/07\/22\/george-gascon-releases-another-violent-felon-this-time-a-murderer-serving-50-year-prison-sentence-n600119\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">extensively<\/a> the <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/jenniferoo\/2022\/07\/11\/l-a-homeless-scourge-continues-as-olympic-silver-medalist-is-brutally-attacked-n592854\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lawlessness<\/a> that is taking place in Los Angeles and San Francisco, none of these career politicians seems to care; however, the citizens are left with no choice but to <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/jimthompson\/2022\/08\/02\/he-shot-my-arm-off-80-year-old-store-owner-shoots-armed-robber-leaves-him-screaming-n605762\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">defend themselves<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Kady continued:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIn any case charged from this day forward, the District Attorney\u2019s Office will not seek the death penalty. The District Attorney\u2019s Office will not defend existing death sentences and will engage in a thorough review of every existing death penalty judgment from Los Angeles County with the goal of removing the sentence of death.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Kady also spoke about the victims\u2019 families:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cFor the families, this is really devastating \u2026 What\u2019s happening in Los Angeles is that the district attorney\u2019s office, based on policy only, is going through systematically and trying to undo every death sentence that has ever occurred in this county.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis office is telling families, don\u2019t worry, nothing really changes. If that is the case, why do it? The sentence that the judge imposed essentially is going to be meaningless if these people are then entitled to get a parole hearing based on the elder or youthful parole law.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This is not the first time that families have been infuriated with Gascon\u2019s boneheaded policies.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">George Gasc\u00f3n has completely abandoned crime victims &#038; their families.
