The government has provided \u201cno official explanation or information\u201d regarding the search, it noted.<\/p>\n<p>If the government needs to protect the identities of its confidential sources and witnesses, it may be addressed through \u201cappropriate redactions\u201d from the search warrant affidavit, the motion states. The historical presumption of access to warrant materials \u201cvastly outweighs\u201d any government interest in keeping the materials under seal, the motion argues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Biden administration\u2019s raid on President Trump\u2019s home is an outrageous, reckless, and unprecedented abuse of power. And the American people have an urgent right to know how it happened and who is responsible,\u201d Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in an Aug. 9 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/judicial-watch-files-motion-to-unseal-fbi-search-warrant-used-to-raid-president-trumps-mar-a-lago-home\/\">press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI\u2019s application for a warrant, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us-judge-in-florida-approved-search-warrants-before-fbi-raid-of-trumps-resort_4652659.html\">approved by U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart<\/a>, was placed under seal by the judge in addition to an affidavit outlining why a warrant was needed.
