The story does not mention once that the women allegedly burned the baby.The Huffington Post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffpost.com\/entry\/nebraska-teenager-abortion-facebook-messages_n_62f2aceae4b0acf9d0029190\">headlined its story<\/a>: \u201cFacebook Gave Cops Data To Prosecute Nebraska Teenager Who Allegedly Had An Abortion.\u201d The story mentions later on that the duo allegedly burned the baby.The Cut <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecut.com\/2022\/08\/nebraska-mom-daughter-charges-illegal-abortion-facebook-chat.html\">headlined its story<\/a>: \u201cMom and Teen Daughter Accused of Illegal Abortion Based on Facebook Messages,\u201d while\u00a0CBS News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/sanfrancisco\/news\/facebook-nebraska-abortion-police-warrant-messages-celeste-jessica-burgess-madison-county\/\">headlined its story<\/a>: \u201cNebraska mother, teenager face charges in teen\u2019s abortion after police obtain their Facebook DMs.\u201d Both of these outlets mentioned that the baby was allegedly burned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis marks one of the first instances of a person\u2019s Facebook activity being used to incriminate her in a state where abortion access is restricted \u2014 a scenario that has remained largely hypothetical in the weeks following the US Supreme Court\u2019s decision to overturn <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>,\u201d the Forbes story notes \u2014 a sentiment <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/0liviajulianna\/status\/1557049538153693185?s=20&#038;t=WwVAVdNkKhuevwOaG88kKQ\">echoed<\/a> by those who shared the publication\u2019s story.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A mother performed an abortion on her 23-week pregnant daughter at home.<\/p>\n<p>They burned and buried the body.<\/p>\n<p>They then talked about the horrific crime they committed over Facebook dms, which were obtained by a search warrant.<\/p>\n<p>This is how the liars in the media frame the story. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Zwfi8nqZ6S\">pic.twitter.com\/Zwfi8nqZ6S<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Greg Price (@greg_price11) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/greg_price11\/status\/1557121232197255168?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 9, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hiding The Aborted Baby<\/p>\n<p>A search warrant affidavit reviewed by the Lincoln Journal Star reveals that a Norfolk police detective launched an investigation into the death of the baby pursuing a tip that the daughter had buried a miscarried baby with her mother \u2014 possibly violating the state\u2019s pre-<em>Roe<\/em> ban on abortions after 20 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The publication reported that after obtaining her medical records and establishing that she was more than six months (23 weeks) pregnant, the detective met with Celeste Burgess and her mother.<\/p>\n<p>The two claimed that Celeste Burgess had suddenly birthed her stillborn baby in the shower in the middle of the night, the Lincoln Journal Star reported that court records show, woken her mother, stowed the baby in a bag in the back of their van, and later buried the baby with the help of the 22-year-old man.<\/p>\n<p>That man revealed to police on April 29 that Celeste and Jessica Burgess had tried to burn the baby\u2019s body before burying it on his parents\u2019 property \u2014 and authorities who examined the baby\u2019s body found \u201cthermal wounds,\u201d the Lincoln Journal Star reported.<\/p>\n<p>The baby was indeed stillborn, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.siouxlandproud.com\/news\/local-news\/2-adults-and-1-teen-concealed-death-of-baby-norfolk-police-says\/\">an April 30 autopsy found<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-xry7m2\">Authorities \u2014 unaware that the baby had been illegally aborted \u2014 reportedly charged the women in early June with removing, concealing, or abandoning a dead human body, as well as concealing the death of another person and false reporting.<\/p>\n<p>But the detective then served a search warrant on Facebook and found messages indicating that the mother had bought or obtained abortion pills for her daughter and told her how to take them, the publication reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I conducted the interview with C. Burgess I wanted to try and figure out when the miscarriage occurred,\u201d the detective said, according to a complaint obtained by The Daily Beast, adding, \u201cC.
