Jack Bergman in November and is also a doctor, wrote on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/bob.lorinser\">Facebook<\/a> on Oct. 20, 2018. \u201cChildren are harder than dying after a long life. Calling it medical assisting dying \u2013I like. When, who, how\u2013devil is in the details.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCalling it suicide or killing is definitely negative and \u2018wrong\u201d. [sic] Calling it medical assisting dying may obscure the issue. A suffering child with a terminal illness say within weeks or months could it be proper and ethical. I think so,\u201d Lorinser wrote in the post, which has since been made private, thus shielded from public view.<\/p>\n<p>Medically assisted suicide is the process by which a patient agrees a physician may end their life often by administering a lethal dose of drugs. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/02\/18\/alliance-defending-freedom-adf-assisted-suicide-massachusetts\/\"><strong>(RELATED: Activist Doctors Fight To Legalize Assisted Suicide In Massachusetts)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lorinser, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.co.marquette.mi.us\/departments\/health_department\/hd_administration\/administration_staff.php\">who<\/a> is the medical director for the Marquette County Health Department in Michigan, was responding to a 2018 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/horror-toronto-preps-assisted-suicide-children-amanda-prestigiacomo\">article<\/a> in the Daily Wire titled \u201cHORROR: Toronto Hospital Preps Assisted Suicide For Children, Might Not Inform Parents.\u201d The article is about doctors at a Canadian hospital who rolled out plans for allowing those under 18 years of age to receive medically assisted suicide \u201cin the near future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot in any case when the docs initiate this action without even contacting parents,\u201d a Facebook user, whose name the DCNF has redacted for their privacy, responded to Lorinser. \u201cMurder.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Diane Coleman, president and CEO of Not Dead Yet, a disability rights <a href=\"https:\/\/notdeadyet.org\/about\/staff\">group<\/a> that opposes legalization of assisted suicide, told the DCNF the practice is a form of \u201cdiscrimination.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s discrimination because people with chronic health conditions and disabilities, whether or not they\u2019re labeled terminal, are devalued in society,\u201d said Coleman.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7497618\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7497618\" class=\"wp-image-7497618\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Screen-Shot-2022-08-09-at-1.28.41-PM.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Screen-Shot-2022-08-09-at-1.28.41-PM.png 928w, https:\/\/cdn01.dailycaller.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Screen-Shot-2022-08-09-at-1.28.41-PM-118x120.png 118w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Screen-Shot-2022-08-09-at-1.28.41-PM-608x620-1.png 608w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Screen-Shot-2022-08-09-at-1.28.41-PM-768x783-1.png 768w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Screen-Shot-2022-08-09-at-1.28.41-PM-1536x1565-1.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Screen-Shot-2022-08-09-at-1.28.41-PM-2048x2087-1.png 2048w\" \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-7497618\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Screenshot\/Facebook\/Bob Lorinser<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Lorinser advanced unopposed in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2022\/08\/02\/us\/elections\/results-michigan-us-house-district-1.html\">the<\/a> Democratic primary on Aug. 2 for Michigan\u2019s 1st Congressional District. The district <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/2022-election\/race-forecasts-ratings-and-predictions\/michigan\/house\/district-01\/\">is<\/a> \u201csolid Republican,\u201d according to Politico, and a Democratic member has not been elected there <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/08\/09\/biden-admin-cambodia-misinformation-grant\/\">since<\/a> 2008.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDr. Fauci wannabe Bob Lorinser sincerely thinks he is God, and this revelation further proves that point,\u201d a campaign spokesman for Bergman told the DCNF. \u201cDemocrats in the First District continue putting up terribly radical and flawed candidates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast election cycle they put up a wife-beater, and now the same team puts up a doctor with viewpoints so radical they would make Dr. [Jack] Kevorkian blush,\u201d said the spokesman, alluding to Dana Ferguson, a Democrat who ran in 2020 against Bergman and was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mininggazette.com\/news\/2020\/09\/dana-ferguson-confirms-domestic-violence-arrest\/\">arrested<\/a> for alleged domestic violence against his ex-wife. \u201cBob Lorinser should withdraw from the race in disgrace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lorinser\u2019s campaign did not respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience.
