Scott Perry had his cell phone seized by FBI agents Tuesday, the day after the FBI raided former President Donald Trump\u2019s residence in Mar-a-Lago, he told the Daily Caller News Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Agents confronted Perry while he was traveling with his family and seized his phone without making an attempt to contact his attorney, who would have turned the phone over to the authorities, he first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/trump-ally-rep-scott-perry-says-fbi-seized-cell-phone-one-day-after-mar-a-lago-raid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told<\/a> Fox News. AFP PHOTO\/Mandel NGAN (Photo credit should read MANDEL NGAN\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cAs with President Trump last night, DOJ chose this unnecessary and aggressive action instead of simply contacting my attorneys,\u201d Perry told the DCNF. \u201cThese kinds of banana republic tactics should concern every Citizen \u2014 especially considering the decision before Congress this week to hire 87,000 new IRS agents to further persecute law-abiding Citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Perry\u2019s statement comes just days after FBI agents executed a search warrant at former President Donald Trump\u2019s home in Florida, through which they reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/fbi-search-of-trumps-florida-home-mar-a-lago-is-criticized-by-republicans-11660049490\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">seized<\/a> at least ten boxes of documents, according to The Wall Street Journal. The raid was reportedly due to documents Trump had allegedly failed to return to the National Archives, according to multiple sources.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m outraged \u2014 though not surprised \u2014 that the FBI under the direction of Merrick Garland\u2019s DOJ, would seize the phone of a sitting Member of Congress,\u201d Perry said in his statement. \u201cMy phone contains info about my legislative and political activities, and personal\/private discussions with my wife, family, constituents, and friends.
