Not a trend you want to see start now if the labor market is headed for a slowdown.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/jobsreport?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#jobsreport<\/a> 11\/ <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/HZBJNIxapT\">pic.twitter.com\/HZBJNIxapT<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Daniel Zhao (@DanielBZhao) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DanielBZhao\/status\/1555545346671054850?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 5, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In addition to underwhelming job numbers for the group, Biden\u2019s economic policies are also causing inflation to impact black Americans harder than almost all the other racial groups, according to a Federal Reserve Bank of New York report <a href=\"https:\/\/libertystreeteconomics.newyorkfed.org\/2022\/06\/was-the-2021-22-rise-in-inflation-equitable\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">released<\/a> on June 30.<\/p>\n<p>The N.Y. Federal Reserve used a scholarly method combining the BLS\u2019 employment rates for racial and ethnic groups, its consumer price index (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/cpi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CPI<\/a>), and the bureau\u2019s consumer expenditure survey (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/cex\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CEX<\/a>) to find how the inflation gap changes across demographics over time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen overall inflation began rising in March 2021, inflation disparities surged, with Black and Hispanic Americans experiencing higher inflation than the national average,\u201d the report stated.<\/p>\n<p>The disparities highlighted in the report were double that of 2019 when Asian Americans experienced \u201cslightly\u201d higher inflation than the national average, according to the N.Y. Federal Reserve.<\/p>\n<p>The bank also found that not only do black Americans face higher inflationary pressures, the data compiled apparently \u201cunderestimates\u201d the actual inflationary gaps and suggests the size of these disparities were \u201cconsiderably higher.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/08\/04\/yougov-economist-poll-recession-joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED:\u00a0\u2018You Can\u2019t Hide The Facts\u2019: Majority Of Americans Think U.S. Is In A Recession, Poll Shows)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is likely that our procedure underestimates inflation disparities between different groups of Americans because, in addition to consuming different bundles of goods, different demographics likely face different prices for the same goods, with lower-income Americans and Black Americans facing higher price growth,\u201d according to the N.Y. Federal Reserve.<\/p>\n<p>The report suggests that the measured magnitude of disparities were between 0.2% to 0.6%. The national average for inflation in different categories like food, clothing, energy, housing, or entertainment is 9.2%, which means that black Americans will experience an inflation rate between 9.4-9.8%, according to the report.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\u201cIn this last jobs report, know one wanted to talk about the fact that a quarter of a million Black Americans dropped out the labor force &#038; 166k lost their jobs. Real people in this economy are getting crushed at this very moment\u2026\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cvpayne?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@cvpayne<\/a> speaking the truth on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FaulknerFocus?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@FaulknerFocus<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/YR5JqFo2Le\">pic.twitter.com\/YR5JqFo2Le<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 PARIS (@PARISDENNARD) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PARISDENNARD\/status\/1552698491943763969?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 28, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Political commentator Van Jones <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/07\/20\/opinions\/black-voters-frustration-biden-solutions-jones\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">argued<\/a> in July on CNN\u2019s \u201cNew Day\u201d that Biden\u2019s low poll numbers were reflective of black American voters \u201cgoing through a season of heartbreak, frustration and disappointment with the Biden Administration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Black community is being absolutely pummeled economically \u2013 bearing the brunt of the soaring gas, food and housing prices,\u201d Jones wrote in the piece. \u201cIt\u2019s no wonder only 34% of Black voters in the CNN poll said they approved of Biden\u2019s handling of inflation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A poll conducted by CNN in July <a href=\"https:\/\/s3.documentcloud.org\/documents\/22088874\/cnn-poll-biden-approval-rating.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">showed<\/a> that Biden\u2019s approval rating stood at 57% among black voters, down 6% since the spring. The CNN poll surveyed 1,459 U.S. adults from June 13-July 13 with a margin of error of +\/-3.3%. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/07\/29\/cnn-van-jones-biden-democrats-comeback-reconciliation-package-manchin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED:\u00a0\u2018Just Erase The Past 6 Months Of Nutty Stuff\u2019: Van Jones Says A Biden Comeback Hinges On Americans\u2019 Forgetfulness)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jones warns that Democrats there was a \u201cwidespread feeling that the Democrats have overpromised and under-delivered\u201d for black Americans who heavily supported Democrats in the 2018 and 2020 elections. The Democratic Party is at risk of losing its energized voter base due to Biden\u2019s progressive spending bills that don\u2019t tackle issues black voters care about, according to Jones.<\/p>\n<p>He said even achievements strictly for the black community, such a selecting a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/12\/president-joe-biden-cabinet-diversity-elite\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">diverse<\/a> cabinet and <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/22\/judge-jackson-marsha-blackburn-woman-definition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">appointing<\/a> the first black woman to the U.S. Supreme Court, \u201calone won\u2019t win back Black voters who feel the Biden Administration has fallen short on other political fronts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe problem is that Democrats promised or hinted at so many more improvements for Black America,\u201d Jones wrote. \u201cNone of these issues has been successfully addressed.\u201d<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>Organizers with Black to the Future Action Fund (<a href=\"https:\/\/black2thefuture.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">B2F<\/a>) and <a href=\"https:\/\/blackmalevoterproject.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Black Make Voter Project<\/a> complained the Democratic party \u201cconsistently overlooks Black voters until it\u2019s too late\u201d in favor of being \u201cfocused on regaining white suburban voters, particularly white women,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/3588448-black-voters-dissatisfaction-could-spell-trouble-for-democrats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a> The Hill on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we look at the challenges that this country is facing, from health care to housing, to safety, these things are disproportionately impacting communities of color and Black communities especially,\u201d Alicia Garza, the principal of the B2F fund, told the Hill.<\/p>\n<p>According to B2F \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/black2thefuture.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Black-to-the-Future-Temperature-Check-Year-In-Review-Report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Temperature Check Year In Review<\/a>\u201d survey in July from Socianalitica Research, which measures black voter sentiment before the upcoming midterm elections, almost 50% of black Americans are disappointed with the direction the country is headed.<\/p>\n<p>The same survey saw Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris\u2019 approval ratings decrease from the high 70s to the mid 60s between July 2021 and May 2022. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/06\/04\/biden-approval-black-voters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0Biden\u2019s Approval Rating From Black Voters Plummets)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOverwhelmingly, our respondents\u2019 needs showed that economic recovery is their top priority,\u201d reported the poll. \u201cAs we head into the midterm elections, Black communities want bold policy change that will produce a fair, stable economy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Temperature Check Poll takes bi-monthly surveys of 5,999 black adults across the United States with a margin of error of +\/- 1.3%, asking what their top concerns were and whether their elected officials were working toward a solution, according to the poll.<\/p>\n<p>Black Male Voter Project founder <a href=\"https:\/\/blackmalevoterproject.org\/mission-and-vision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mondale Robinson<\/a> told The Hill that the Democrats could lose black votes as their campaign style \u201cignores the issues most concerning to them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat will happen is that Black voters will stay home,\u201d Robinson told The Hill. \u201cBlack voters are not a monolith, but when we vote, we vote monolithically.
